I cannot imagine not being able to feel God when I go to church. I can’t do church without His presence. Lift up your hands, lift up your voice, shout unto God with the voice of triumph; these are all right out of the Jewish songbook (Psalms). When Jesus began His triumphant re-entry into Jerusalem they told him to make the people quiet down to which he responded, if these hold Their peace, the stones will cry out. It is absolutely in order to worship God. We worship what we know, we shout, we clap our hands, some may dance, and a few may take a lap around the church pews. We are the Body Of Christ, His bride responding to His presence. We sing, speak in other tongues, pray in the Holy Ghost, exercise our faith.
Every year the two best football teams will face off on Super Bowl Sunday and all of America will shout and cheer their idols on to victory. I’m not going to do less in the way of worship for my Savior than they do for theirs. Pentecost was a huge feast day, a great celebration that brought thousands to Jerusalem each year. God chose this day to birth his church. They were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in tongues as the Spirit gave utterance, they spilled out onto the street from the upper room and people accused them of being drunk. They were drunk on the Holy Ghost.
Each Sunday Across America, Entire churches gather together in a hushed reverenced ecumenical ritual but never experience the power and presence of God. It’s been generations since the Methodist Church has seen the revivals of John and Charles Wesley. Major demonizations are putting lesbian women in as “Pastors”. Their Bible is just another book, and their Jesus is just another man.
While other mainline churches are in decline, both numerically and spiritually, Pentecost is on the rise. We’re having revival. Folks are getting saved, Demons are being cast out, healing is taking place. God is moving in our midst!
